## What Panoptes is

A continuous census of the South African internet — hosts, services, TLS
certificates and known vulnerabilities — resolved to entities (people,
companies, public bodies) and correlated into feeds. It exists to give law
enforcement, sanctions bodies and other lawful actors an accurate, current
picture of exposure and the networks behind it.

## Collection, at a level a person can verify

- Infrastructure: reachable hosts in South African allocations, service banners
  and product fingerprints, certificates, and CVE matches ranked by real-world
  exploitation.
- Open corpora: public news, filings and records resolved to entities.
- The entity graph: ownership layers, procurement, directorships, sanctions links.

## What this site does NOT do

- It stores nothing about visitors. The on-page "exposure" demonstration runs
  entirely in the visitor's browser and is never transmitted or retained.
- It makes no claim about any specific real person from the demonstration data,
  which is representative and redacted.
